Hey out there!!! Have you ever had ideas that maybe you’ve jotted down, said you were going to do but just never got around to it?! You too?? Ok good, I’m not alone!!
I’ve been raised in the kitchen, I love cooking and I love to eat. I can remember like it was yesterday, the smells of my mother’s food, whether she was making me breakfast before school or being able to smell dinner cooking as soon as I stepped close to the door coming home. I can also remember my grandmother waking up extremely early to make sure she had fresh bread made to go with breakfast and the smell of curried crab cooking for dinner (my father’s family is Caribbean, from Trinidad to be exact). I can remember being at my Nana and Papa’s house and having my eyes burn after my Papa picked pepper’s from his garden and then went on to cook them and eat them whole. I could go on and on about my relationship with food!
Luckily, I met an awesome man who just happened to love food and be just as adventurous as myself! We have made a habit of traveling and challenging each other to try new foods!! Then we had a child and now we have passed the love of food and travel to our two year daughter. I wanted to make sure that she was familiar with the kitchen and familiar with real food. I feel we are losing the art of simply getting in the kitchen and making a nice meal for our families. I know it takes more time and sometimes (with the prices at the stores increasing) it can be pricey, but there is so much emotion involved in the cooking process for all parties involved and I want families to get back to the basics.
For about a year now, I’ve wanted to make family related YouTube videos, but never applied actions to my thoughts. So here I am now! I’ve finally uploaded two videos in a two week time frame and I’m going to keep up the consistency. I’ve started this webpage to pair up with the YouTube page for those who prefer to read over watching quick videos!
I hope this inspires someone who reads it to follow through with something that they have always wanted to do! Sometimes life gets in the way and slows us down, but we have to remind ourselves, we only have the one life to live, so live it up to the fullest!! I thank God for my support system that I have in my Husband and Mother; they always encourage me to keep moving toward my goals and I most certainly will do just that!
If you have stumbled upon this webpage and haven’t seen our videos, please feel free to check them out and subscribe. If you have come to this page from YouTube, Thank you so much for your support!
Stay Blessed
